In the seemingly endless days prior to the Sportwerks Mayhem's arrival, I spent my time locating as many articles and reviews I could find on the Mayhem. Below is a short list of some of what I found.
Sportwerks Mayhem Update, John Adams, Engineering Manager, Horizon Hobby. The Sportwerks line is distributed by Horizon Hobby and you will find many resources for the Mayhem on the Horizon Hobby Website including this series of articles specific to the Mayhem. Many of the tips included in this series have been incorporated into later versions of the Mayhem.
Mayhem RTR Manual Although the Mayhem comes with a quality manual printed on coated stock (to survive splashes of fuel and oil,) the first step of any RC hobbyist should be the manual, which can be downloaded from the Horizon site. The instruction section is short and most of the manual consists of accurate exploded views of the variouls components of the Mayhem.
Mayhem Option Parts Although not an exhaustive list, Horizon frequently displays new Mayhem option parts on this page. It's notable to mention that many parts from other buggies will fit the Mayhem, including tires/wheels and clutch parts.
EZ-On Clutch Spring Tool Although I'm new to 1/8 buggies, one of the more frequent questions I see asked on the variouls message boards I frequent is "Is there an EASY way to get these stupid clutch springs on?" Seeing this one coming, I ordered one of these in advance of the Mayhem's arrival, and it's the best twenty bucks any 1/8 buggy owner will spend. Push and twist and yer' done.
RCCA Review RC Car Action's four-page review of the Mayhem.
Radio Control Zone Mayhem Thread You read the reviews, you get the specs, you download the manual, but nothing clues you in as well as a few owners' opinions on how they like their Mayhem. The RCZ's Mayhem thread has been very helpful in comparing notes with other owners and getting even more tuning tips on how to get more steering and handling out of the Mayhem.
RC Tech Mayhem Thread Although RC Tech seems geared more toward onroad nitro and electric, you'll find a pretty active Sportwerks thread in the Electric & Nitro Offroad Forum here.
And just when I thought I couldn't take it any more, I get a call from my wife: "A big box just arrived via UPS, I think it's your buggy."
